Jaguar Kings

Remember when we first started seeing the "unplugged" movement on MTV back in the early 90s? It was a series they did that started in 1989. What really kicked it into high gear was when Nirvana did the show in '93. That show stuck with me. There was just something about it—raw and real. I do a lot of different kinds of music, and one of them from the earliest days was the singer-songwriter thing. Just me and an acoustic guitar. What that unplugged series ingrained in me was the notion that you didn't have to be the only one playing unplugged. You could do it with a band and it could sound powerful. When I got together with the guys and started talking about a new project, I pushed the idea that we should do something as real as we could get it in a modern sense—-we should all play simple, acoustic instruments, but do our rock songs as an eff-you to the whole overly-polished and AI slop-generated music of today. Everyone agreed and so Jaguar Kings was born. It has evolved a bit since we started. For one thing, we like electronic instruments, and decided to add some flourishes here and there like spice and treat the electronic instrument like another acoustic instrument in our lineup. So far it has worked out great!

We recently completed the recording and mixing of what will be our first album. It's so fresh and new, it doesn't even have a name yet. Keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, check out the YouTube channel for more music.
